ACCOMMODATIONS

Ballycarbery House was first extensively renovated in 1996 and underwent further improvements in 2009.  The house probably dates back to the mid 19th century.  The facilities are customized to ensure that guests are free to enjoy comfortable accommodation in a traditional cottage.  The overall layout of the cottage is simple and very comfortable.  Its unique style includes natural exposed stone walls (some being several feet thick) in the downstairs kitchen and dining room as well as in the upstairs hallway. 



UPSTAIRS: 

The three bedrooms upstairs provide sleeping accommodation for up to five people. The master bedroom has a double bed, the second large bedroom has two single beds and the small bedroom has one single bed.  Each bedroom has a bay window with a view of the mountains and a sky light window with a view of Ballycarbery Castle. There is a cosy bathroom with an electric shower offering instant hot water. All of the upstairs enjoys re-finished hardwood flooring. Bed linen and towels are supplied to guests.

DOWNSTAIRS: 

Downstairs, the kitchen contains an electric stove, kitchen counter top, fridge and laundry facilities (washing machine & dryer).   Cooking utensils and kitchenware are supplied.  Everything you need regarding preparing and cooking meals is at your disposal.In the dining room, the table and chairs are situated in front of a traditional open fireplace and hob.  French doors lead from the dining room out to the patio and a sheltered garden where you will be stunned by the amazing view of Ballycarberry Castle and Valentia Harbour.Also downstairs, a living room contains an open fireplace and another view from its window to the castle.  There is seating for several people and TV/DVD is available. All rooms both upstairs and downstairs are heated by radiator heating.

OUTDOORS:

The patio with its natural stone walls, has a spectacular view of Ballycarbery Castle. The garden itself has a sheltered lawn surrounded by mature pines. There is also a small copse of trees such as birch, maple, ash and pines.There is a pathway leading directly from the patio to a private lane which goes down through the fields to the castle itself. At the front of the cottage there is a courtyard surrounded by several stone buildings. There’s lots of room for parking.
