ACTIVITIES

Ballycarbery.  There are so many attractions in this area, including several historical sites just walking distance from Ballycarbery House.  Of course, Ballycarbery Castle and the adjacent stone forts are spectacular.  These are just on the door step.  Also just a few hundred meters away is Ballycarbery Beach, which is a lovely little cove.  There are two larger beaches, the White Strand and Cuas Crom within 2 to 3 kms away. Being such a scenic location, there are several great walks in the immediate area of Ballycarbery.

Cahersiveen.  The nearby town of Cahersiveen which is only 3 kilometers away has a population approximately 1,700 people.  There are several supermarkets, craft shops, pubs, restaurants and banks.  It’s easy to find a pub with the traditional Irish “craic” happening.  It’s a nice small and friendly town which enjoys a leisurely pace to life.

  • Windsurfing and Sailing.  The Atlantic Sailing Club at the Marina in Cahersiveen is the location for windsurfing & sailing in the area. Enjoy sailing down the Fertha Estuary with great views of Ballycarbery Castle.  Caherdaniel also has a sailing and windsurfing club.
